Writing a tango-related business plan

QuestMaster

Hello fellow dancers, I am a dancer currently writing a tango-related business plan, and I would appreciate your input.  I am being asked to define my target market.  Therefore, I need sources and/or primary information regarding demographics, especially attendance at festivals, workshops and grande milongas.  For instance, how many dancers attend major festivals in the Unted States?  What percentage stay at the hosting hotel and are walkins?   If there are no sources, then would festival organizers be willing to share attendance figures for their events?  And maybe even share some of the hopes, wishes and criticism of participants.  No names please. Hopefully, these questions will give you an idea as to what kind of information is needed in a business plan.  I thank you in advance for your input.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR The passion & mystery... of tango & the Arabian dessert

We are proud to invite Argentine tango dancers from all around the world to participate in the first international tango festival in Jordan in 16-17-18-19 September 2010.

The tango festival in Jordan will bring together teachers, artists and dancers from all around the world, all gathered for a magical experience in the Arabian dessert.

Locations of the milongas will include Jordan’s most famous heritage: the Roman theater in Jerash; one of the best preserved Roman provincial towns in the world, The Dead Sea; the lowest point on earth, and Rum valley; a timeless area in the middle of the Jordan desert.

the Festival will be followed with a trip to Petra; one of the world’s 7th wonders. and other optional locations in the country.

Workshops will include special optional classes introducing Jordan’s traditional dances & music.

We hope that you all join us in making this event a success...

The Tango Fusion Club founded in Munich, Germany in 2003 boasts the prominence of traditional tango music from Argentina mixed with modern electonic beats to a new and trendy sound mix. Come and feel the glowing passion in a cool club ambiance whether you´re dancing in two, single or you just like listening and watching.

I wanted to post this video of one of my favorite teachers in BA -- Gustavo Naveira  -- who beautifully combines older-milonguero style with contemporary nuevo moves. He's teaching unbelievable advanced group classes in Buenos Aires (San Telmo barrio) every Wednesday.
