G’day, my name is Damian Thompson – from Australia. Currently I’m based in Sydney. I began dancing many years ago and was a professional ballroom teacher and salsa teacher before becoming entangled in the web of tango. For the past 11 years, I have focused exclusively on Argentine tango and have taught and performed in many places around the world. In the past 3 years, I have taught in Australia, Buenos Aires, in Europe including: Italy; Germany; Poland; Holland; Latvia; as well as the USA and Canada. In the past, I have been invited to perform for The Royal Australian Ballet Company in Melbourne. Competed in the Australian Tango Championships in both Salon and Stage categories and each time, been a top 10 finalist for Salon, and top 3 for Stage and in the most recent competition, coming 2nd. My style is based on years of learning from many different maestros and tango styles. My teaching is based upon an on-axis style and using the principles of technique to achieve a symbiotic relationship with both the music and my partner. Prior to focusing on tango, I had taught martial arts for over 20 years and it is from this body awareness, that I am able to understand the body mechanics and reasons why we do things in tango that sometimes seem difficult. Many have described me as a very playful, fun teacher. My emphasis in teaching is to convey the basic and essential concepts of the most complex moves in a systematic, logical fashion. I keep up with the best teachers in the world and take lessons as often as possible. When able to, I collaborate with other teachers teaching and developing all forms of Tango. My goal is to inspire passion in the art of dancing tango. My partner and fiancee is Aga Mroz. We met in NYC in 2009 at a Robin Thomas’ practica on a Tuesday night in August. Whilst intially, we did not keep in touch, when I returned, we had cemented our relationship. Aga has been dancing since a very young age, like many of us, coming up in the ballroom scene. However, after moving to NYC, Aga began her tango life. This has continued now for many years. Aga’s passion in life, tango and many other pursuits also led me to actually doing this blog. Without her push, I don’t know if i would have started this blog successfully, if at all. Together, we will be showing you the best of the best within the tango performances that get to youtube that we locate. If you would like us to review a performance, please send us an email with a link to the performance, and we will most certainly look at it.

Michelle hails from a performance background and has danced most of her life. Here, we see just how excellent Michelle it, and she is excellent! Anyone that has danced with Michelle, has always just melted after!

Murat, the arts. Born of parents that were both artists, it was almost pre-ordained that Murat would be an artist and… he is an excellent artist as well as an amazingly talented and very musical tango dancer! Just ask his thousands of fans!
