El Pajaro has been featured here before – this time, it's with his long term dance partner, Belén Giachello. The performance is from Tangocamp in Sweden, 2011. This is almost the slowest I've seen them move as a couple, but that should only highlight their skill and execution as those that have tried to look elegant when moving slower, know! It's harder!
Ok, so the music starts at 0:45 – not sure I love these long introductions, I don't really – we are here for the dancing... not video editing skills other than, we want to see the dancing and from the best angle possible if more than 1 angle...
I love that they take time, time to embrace, time to start, time – to connect to each other. Then, beautiful, slow walking from the opening to 1:30. Here, we see Belén showing her class and elegance with the beautiful extension of her leg (1:30) before her elegant, slow timed adornments and the forward cross.
And then... El Pajaro's enrosque and lapiz! He is definitely one of the best in tango with this technique combination. Here, I love the slowing of the movement near the end (1:37) matching the music! Notice at 1:39, though not quite 'mirrored', that El Pajaro is in a cross position. If we were to pivot him a little more, he would mirror Belén's cross position.
