The Philadelphia Argentine Tango School was founded in 2008 to offer top-notch instruction in Argentine tango to beginners through professional dancers in Philadelphia. Two of the three staff, Andres Amarilla & Damian Lobato, are Argentine teachers who have been dancing tango for 20 years.

In addition to group and private lessons, the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School offers two weekly practicas, monthly milongas and occasional larger events.

In October 2009, School Founders Andres Amarilla & Meredith Klein purchased a building in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, and founded a permanent studio there. They are excitedly collaborating with other local arts and development organizations to help build a robust Frankford Ave Arts Corridor.
